June has dedicated the past decade to cultivating her celebrated garden at Tinode, alongside meticulously restoring four historic, virtually derelict 19th century farm outbuildings on the scenic estate. This delightful modern refurbishment was crafted by Award Winning Architect Michael Kelly.

Aptly named as it was the space for storing harnesses and saddles. Guests will have an extra special experience as the holiday home offers a delightful wood burning stove.

Kitchen and dining table. The living room looks directly out into the courtyard with a large door opening out for days that the weather allows to sit outside. The limestone walls offer a backdrop for a SmartTV Projector for a cinematic feel.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The bedroom featuring a double bed, has an en-suite shower room with walk in shower.

Mark the head chef from the amazing @the_old_spot_dublin is creating a five course tasting menu of local, organic produce and has chosen The Grinding House for his venue. We are beyond chuffed and excited!

We had another gorgeous class of "Conscious Movement" with @grzegorz.janeczko yesterday. Thank you to everyone for coming.

The next class is on Saturday 23rd November, at 4pm-6pm again. This is a two hour class of movement and stretching. The extra time allows for deeper stretching and for heat/energy to build up in your body. Finishing with a deep relaxation to integrate the changes made to your body during the class. The heat from the polished concrete floor is really lovely throughout the class, but in particular for the relaxation.

We had one last private tour today, thank you @heidigardenworld .. a beautiful autumnal day here and the garden still very much in flower.

We are very grateful for all the tours, visitors, and locals that came to see us in the garden and attended some of the events. The Grinding House will still be hosting events. I will keep you updated here. Our "Conscious Movement" workshop is next Saturday 28th @ 4pm-6pm. DM to book in, we have some spaces left.

Thank you also to the wonderful Irish brands, photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and models that used the garden as a backdrop for collections. We were very honoured that you chose here 🙏

It's hard to believe it's the end of the Summer already, although I use the word "Summer" lightly! We will close next weekend on Saturday 21st September, but before we do, we will hopefully see some of these plants off to a good home. Most plants are on sale now. Open tomorrow 11-5pm, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Dahlias are out in their full glory now and like us appreciating this last hurrah of sunshine! We are open all weekend, 11-5pm. Oksana is in The Grinding House with some delicious cakes from @daisycottagefarm, coffees, and beautiful paintings on display from Bob Lynn.

June will do her last tour of the season @ 2pm on Sunday. Again, just show up. There's no need to book in. Entrance €6 per person. Gathering as usual at the house.

Thank you to all the storytellers for sharing your stories, from really funny laugh out loud ones to poignant, personal stories, to crows fighting over a vape, they all made for a different, and very special experience.

Corydalis Spinners with Hosta, The exquisite Iris chrysographes Thomas O Brien just in flower.
Lots of other beautiful Iris out at the moment and of course Allium’s and Meconopsis Lingholm in full flower.

June's article in @theirishgardenmagazine is all about Thalictrums.. ..."Of all the Thalictrum delavayi varieties, my own favourite is 'Hinckley', named for the great Amercian plantsman, Dan Hinckley. With its finely textured foliage and large heads of lavender flowers on stems that reach 1.3 metres, it certainly stands out. Flowering from June to September, it is another candidate for the front of the border, where it mixes well with the cultivars of Veronicastrum virginicum, including 'Diane's, 'Opollo', 'Adoration' and 'Pink Glow'. I find it also works with grasses, such as Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Overdam' and Stipa gigantea. The play between the puffs of thalictrum flower, candle-like veronicastrum and slender grasses, is a winner.

The attention to detail was 5***** beautifully restored stone buildings in a tranquil location. We stayed in the harness room it was perfect

Beautiful location and property, hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. Would absolutely stay here again if visiting the area again in the future! We had a fantastic time.

We were welcomed very warmly. Also, we already got the first excursion and information tips around our Apartment. We enjoyed this absolute peace. The bus to Dublin is right outside the property and other places of interest were close by.

Lovely 3 nights spent at The Cow House this summer, wishing we would have stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful gardens, explore the surrounding area, and take advantage of the small onsite café. The renovated space was delightful and full of interesting architectural details, the kitchen superbly equipped, the dining area with a charming view to the courtyard. Beds were comfortable, gorgeous linens… all in all a terrific find.

The Turkey House was so amazingly cute. Very comfortable. Very relaxing.

June Blakes Garden is an exceptional place. Do book to stay there - it is a privilege. Stunning garden to explore, beautiful studios - contemporary adaptation of the original buildings - to stay in. Both June and her daughter Niamh are so welcoming and generously shared their world and local knowledge. A treat!
