As we mentioned here before, we sadly lost our don As we mentioned here before, we sadly lost our donkey Babs during the summer. Mildred was heartbroken 💔, she barely moved from the spot where Babs was last and really didn't know what to do with herself. In the meantime, we were contacted by Sara down in West Cork. They had a similar situation, as their donkey Dolly was about to lose her old friend, a horse called Vic who was 28 years old.

And so it was agreed, Dolly would move to Wicklow and meet Mildred. That was a month ago, and Dolly has settled in really well. She has even introduced Mildred to polo mints, clever Dolly to bring treats with her!

If you're in the garden next Spring, or staying with us over the next while - please go say hello to the two finest ladies Mildred and Dolly.

The final figures are in from the fundraiser, and The final figures are in from the fundraiser, and it's almost hard to believe - between everyone in this community and @jimiblake_huntingbrookgardens, we have raised €34,495 for families in Palestine. Thank you to everyone who made it happen. It's incredible and a reminder of how much kindness there still is in the world.

We have started distributing the funds now, and if there is anyone that would still like to donate, please send a DM, and we can share some of the direct links to the families we are helping.

Thank you to all the businesses 🙏 for, without any prompting, offering up amazing raffle prizes.

An unbelievable response from everyone, we were blown away by the kindness of customers, local businesses, friends, staff, neighbours - everyone that pulled together to make it all possible.

We had the most delicious cakes made by local Palestine lady Amal, plants dropped off for sale by other nurseries, books for sale, face painting, and generosity from everyone with time and donations that was unreal!

It doesn't make what is happening there any less awful, but we are very proud of this community for stepping up and showing loud and clear that they want to help ❤️

We will share more over the coming days, and the raffle will officially finish on Friday, the 26th, with the results announced on Monday, the 29th. More raffle prizes have been added and will be listed online. Link in the bio.

Isn't it the hardest part of owning an animal, having to make that decision? She leaves behind her best pal Mildred, and we are looking for another donkey, ideally a quiet, older lady if anyone knows of one that is looking for a new home.

If you're in the garden over the next few weeks, please say hi to Mildred, as you can imagine she's missing her friend.

Beautiful location and property, hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. Would absolutely stay here again if visiting the area again in the future! We had a fantastic time.

We were welcomed very warmly. Also, we already got the first excursion and information tips around our Apartment. We enjoyed this absolute peace. The bus to Dublin is right outside the property and other places of interest were close by.

Lovely 3 nights spent at The Cow House this summer, wishing we would have stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful gardens, explore the surrounding area, and take advantage of the small onsite café. The renovated space was delightful and full of interesting architectural details, the kitchen superbly equipped, the dining area with a charming view to the courtyard. Beds were comfortable, gorgeous linens… all in all a terrific find.

June Blakes Garden is an exceptional place. Do book to stay there - it is a privilege. Stunning garden to explore, beautiful studios - contemporary adaptation of the original buildings - to stay in. Both June and her daughter Niamh are so welcoming and generously shared their world and local knowledge. A treat!
