Welcome
The very best gardens intrigue and restore us, and so it is with June Blake’s garden which is a rare fusion of inspired design and painterly planting. Situated in the townland of Tinode in west Wicklow, and spread over three rural acres, it wraps itself around June’s home, a handsome Victorian farm-steward’s cottage surrounded by a huddle of austerely beautiful, granite-stone farm buildings, one of which -the Cow House- has recently been the subject of an award-winning, modern architectural conversion More>
Garden Open
The garden is currently open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am until 5pm. Coffee, tea and cakes served in our new space “The Grinding House”. For private tours of the garden please contact us directly; info@juneblake.ie. Admission fee for general garden entrance: €6 per person, kids are free. Admission to exhibitions is free.
The Grinding House is the latest of June’s renovation and was originally a space where feed was ground for livestock. It is now a cool, white box space with polished concrete flooring for exhibitions and events. Our current exhibition details are below. Both are running from 19th August until 24th September 2023.
- “A Journey Through Creativity with painting from Trevor Geoghegan and Bob Lynn.
- “I built this fish with bark and sticks” and other works by Michael Calnan and Gunvor Anhøj.
The Grinding House has the same hours as the garden.

"There are few Gardens in Ireland of which I never get tired, and to which I like to return again and again. They're gardens that have layers of interest, in different seasons. At different times of the day, and in all kinds of weather "

June has spent the last 10 years developing her renowned garden at Tinode as well as a number of outbuildings in the picturesque estate. Together with architect Michael Kelly, builder Radek Kazmierski and a number of other very talented people they have created a number of contemporary spaces for accommodation, faithfully respecting the materials and structures of the old farm buildings. These can be booked directly on our site, The Cow House (2 bedrooms), The Turkey House (2 bedrooms), The Harness Room (1 bedroom) and The Garden Studio.
